Compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)

Offering interpreting services, such as American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters, is integral to complying with ADA requirements.  iTi believes in a proactive commitment to inclusivity and legal compliance, safeguarding the rights and dignity of every individual.

Services that comply with the ADA include:

  • ASL in-person or via video remote interpreting (VRI)
  • CART and C-Print Services

Both CART and C-Print Services are not just beneficial – they are legally mandated in certain scenarios under federal laws such as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.

Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) includes the requirement for healthcare providers to use only "qualified interpreters" when communicating with Limited English Proficient (LEP) patients and their families.

iTi uses qualified medical interpreters who have undergone special training to operate in a healthcare environment fulfilling the mandates by the ACA.

iTi also offers valuable training for hospital and healthcare employees to become qualified medical interpreters by completing and passing a 40-hour training course. This course is a prerequisite to become certified by either the CCHI or NBCMI.
